Wish Upon A Quark

Jack Canfield, author/editor of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series of books, has decided to pimp his own brand of secret, esoteric, magic, believe-it-and-it-will-happen charlatanry in a new book called Key To Living The Law Of Attraction.

You may remember that he played a role in last year's The Secret bamboozle.

His is the same thing, new package. And I mean that literally! It is just The Secret with a new book cover! (actually the book cover is almost exactly the same as The Secret)

Here's an excerpt:

Remember, you are inextricably connected to everyone and everything in the universe, including God. You always have been. At any given moment the universe is automatically responding to your every thought, feeling and action. It has no choice; it’s simply the way things work. It acts as a mirror, reflecting back to you the very energy you project. The thoughts and energy that you send out into the universe will always attract back to you, in one form or another, things and experiences that match those thoughts and energy. This is the Law of Attraction at work in your life. It is a perfect example of this brilliantly designed universe in action, an immutable universal law. The Law of Attraction is the scientific explanation for coincidence, serendipity, and the power of prayer.

Should we be surprised that a new book is coming out just as The Secret's wave of success is subsiding? It's all about the cash-flow, baby.

Seriously, you can save your $20 and learn 'the secret' right here: if you really, really wish hard for something every day (maybe with your eyes closed tight and your hands spread open to the heavens), then that energy in your brain sends out waves into the universe (specifically the quantum universe) which someday return to grant your wish.

Jack Canfield says this is scientifically proven. It's absolutely and obviously not, but I'd love for him to stand in the bubble chamber of the brand-new CERN supercollider and test it. Close your eyes, Jack!

As a side note, it was interesting last night to see that the happiest place in the world to live is in Denmark, where they don't go about selfishly and obsessively wishing and wanting all the time.

Now here it is, your url of the day:
Heaven is here on Earth

No harm intended, but... Standing around with eyes closed and hands outstretched as a plan for success. A person could run for President on a platform like that.
